I agree with this idea in principle, but I'm not so sure that Tucker or Maddow are the people we need to listen to. They're both very partisan, and are preaching to a choir on their respective side.
I think spending more time listening to intelligent people with more nuanced/balanced views is more important. That's where I think lectures, podcasts, and alternative opinion publications are really helpful. One of my favorites is Quillette. I also think the Munk Debate series is really great as are the debates hosted by Reason TV.
