I'm curious, when you critique this drudgery of modern capitalism, what exactly are you comparing it to? Drudgery definitely existed before capitalism, for instance when most humans were subsistence farmers who lived on less than a dollar a day in today's dollars. It definitely existed in the Soviet Union where people were forced to work for the state.

In other words, if we widen our perspective, historically and globally, we should see that drudgery isn't particular to our modern way of life. It is a part of the human condition only now, thanks to capitalism, we can at least have drudgery with air conditioning, coffee, and free wifi.
